I was recently listening to Cnet’s podcast Buzz Out Loud, and the topic of discussion came to Microsoft’s new way to sync while cloud computing. As Tom was discussing the fact that the proposed 5 GB’s of storage would clearly not be enough, I thought to myself, why would you want to do this to begin with.

I understand the convenience of having settings and files online to be accessed from any computer, but isn’t there an inherent danger with keeping this type of information floating around on the web. Not only would it present a security issue, but imagine the utter madness if the system were ever to crash! It seems to me that you would want a physical format to store data to.

Most companies have public drives they use for general use, but to have basically all of your information and data floating around on servers is not my idea of secure data management. Maybe there is something I’m missing.

Overall all, I don’t think I would be comfortably with have all that data in a virtual space.

If any of you have itunes, you will either know about this issue, or become perturbed while reading this. In the most recent itunes update, Safari was downloaded without prompted acceptance. Safari is Apple’s web browser and was recently added to the itunes download package. The problem that most people have is that you aren’t prompted to accept the downloading of this browser. This is a normal practice among programs providers, but is usually limited to updates of already present programs on your system. This is Apple’s way of basically forcing you to download their web browser.

WARNING! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE 4-17-08 EPISODE OF THE OFFICE DO NOT READ!

On the hit show The Office, my two favorite characters are Pam and Jim. They are by far the best acting team along side Michael and Dwight. On the 4-17 episode Jim makes a joke about proposing to Pam. She takes it lightly until on the way out of work, Jim drops to one knee. He pauses, looks at her soulfully, then asks “Pam, will you wait for me to tie my shoe”. This was, in my mind, writing genius! The mood that it set was amazing and hilarious.

I’ve noticed over the time period that I’ve watched The Office, that I want to increasingly become friends with Pam and Jim. Never-mind the fact that they aren’t real people! Their charisma and presence in the show lets you immediately feel a friendly connection to their characters. I feel that if the writers don’t have them getting married, then this show will go from hilarious, to “hey remember that great show that suddenly flopped?” Mark my words writers, let Pam and Jim get married!

This is a video of me and my roommate Nick mountain biking at Selma in Milledgeville. The video was filmed by James, and edited by me. This film is hopefully the first of many. We both ride Raleigh Mojave 8.0 bikes. Mine is a 2008, while Nick’s is a 2007. The main differences are the front fork, drive train, tires, and graphics.

It is April 14th, and it is my birthday. I have slowly noticed that as I get older, I start to care less and less about my birthdays. Obviously I am excited about next year, and I’m sure I will be excited when I turn 60 ( My IRA will be a tax free gold mine by then) but what took the excitement out of birthdays. I was always so excited about my birthday in the past. A day that people concentrated on you and gave you things that you wanted, and THEY paid for them. This year it’s different for some reason. I did get my mountain bike, which was my parents gift to me, about a month ago. This might have contributed to the less than excited state I’m in. At this point in my life age and responsibility are directly related. What types of things do I want for my birthday then? Anything that has a purpose! Of course, the girl I’m dating just wants to make me cake, which I would love if it didn’t make me even more over weight.

I drive a Honda Civic Si Sedan year 2007. It is a great car. It is fiji blue pearl. I have done a couple things to it. I tinted the windows to 30%. I made the trunk license plate light a pure white LED that looks great in my opinion. I changed the interior lights to red LEDs. I added a TWM short shifter with cable bushings. I put in a Auger suede shift boot and lastly I added a Skunk2 weighted shift knob. The specs on my car is that it’s a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder, I-vtec with dual overhead cam shafts. It has a base horse power of 197. The engine is Honda’s k-series k20z3, and the body is a fa5 chassis.

So recently I was accepted into the University of Georgia. I am very excited about this. Sadly it is very confusing and hectic. First, I had to find a place to live for the fall of 08 and the spring of 09. I will be living in Lakeside with my friend Nick. Now the confusing comes into play. I have to figure out where to live for the summer. I then need to register for classes for both the summer and fall. Lastly I need to figure out how to transfer my HOPE from GCSU to UGA. This is all while trying to pass my Business Statistics class with the self proclaimed “Chuckster” who is, for lack of an appropriate term, a douche.

Today I took on the role of David and conquered the Goliath alongside some friends. At Luigi’s in Milledgeville, GA we participated in an eating contest of epic proportions. The challenge was for five individuals to consume a 28″ pizza as fast as possible.

There were 3 teams to compete. My team consisted of Derek, Dustin, Ryan, Nick, and myself. We accomplished the feat in 5 minutes and 2 seconds. Our strategy of attack was to first diminish the crust region. This was by far the hardest part of the task. Most of the team implemented the “dip in water” tactic in which you take the hard to chew crust and dip it in water to soften it up. Even using this strategy, our jaws were still very soar once we got to the heart of the pizza. From there is was a walk in the park. We were stacking 3 pieces at once and consuming them in a inhuman manor. Right around 5 minutes, the five victors simultaneously raised arms in success.

We had won, and we had won big! The other teams didn’t finish under 10 minutes. We won t-shirts and were refunded the amount of the pizza. We entered as amateur eaters and left as professional winner.
